RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Looking for new opportunities to improve the Tool Room capacity and capability.
- Fabricate new moulds according to engineering drawings, utilizing various tools, machines, and techniques, such as EDM, wire cut, milling, grinding, polishing and lathe work.
- Set up standards for tool design and implementation, and maintaining current knowledge of best practices in the field.
- Coordinate CNC required work with CNC PIC to make EDM master.
- Coordinate Milling, CNC, manual lathe, welding, polishing, EDM, wire cut etc. jobs with the relevant parties to fabricate new moulds.
- Collaborate with tooling design engineers to provide input on mould feasibility, functionality, and manufacturability during the initial design stage.
- Oversee new mould projects and ensure team members execute tasks efficiently within the schedule.
- Providing feedback to the engineers and management on the best practices and identify/predict any feasibility issues or fabrication problems.
- Operate EDM machines to repair moulds.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mould-related issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Provide inputs for documentation of mould repair processes, including records of measurements, adjustments, and materials used.
- To monitor the performance of the mould repairs and reduce repeat issues that come back to the toolroom for the same repair again.
- Manage tooling fabrication equipment maintenance, repair and upgrades.
- Assist junior team and involve in job planning and quality checking during the tool fabrication.
- Implement and actively involved in MRM (Management Review Meeting) improvement plan.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Certified Mould Maker and/or equivalent experience.
- SPMV/ SPM AND TVET relevant course qualified.
- Proficiency in mould fabrication techniques, including milling, grinding, lathe work, EDM and wire cut, and use of precision measuring instruments.
- Strong understanding of mould design principles, mould materials, and mould construction methods.
- Seasoned experience making moulds from concept to completion.
- Experience with mould maintenance, mould repairs and making new moulds.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
