Job Title: Finance Manager (Malaysia Region)

Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Oversee financial planning processes for the Malaysia region, ensuring accurate budgeting and forecasting.
- Prepare detailed financial reports to aid in decision-making, aligning with both local and regional business goals.
- Identify financial performance gaps and recommend corrective actions.
- Closing & Financial Reporting:
- Lead the financial closing process, ensuring all financial statements are accurate and prepared in a timely manner.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Review financial statements for accuracy, comparing actual performance against budgeted figures.
- Taxation & Compliance:
- Manage and ensure compliance with Malaysia’s tax regulations, including timely filing of tax returns and liaising with tax authorities.
- Lead external and internal audit processes, working closely with auditors to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local tax and accounting laws.
- Budgeting & Cost Management:
- Develop and monitor the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Provide regular updates on budget variances and collaborate with department heads to adjust spending.
- Implement cost-saving measures and recommend financial efficiencies.
- Team Management & Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of 2 accountants, providing guidance on day-to-day tasks and professional development.
- Oversee financial operations, ensuring adherence to internal controls and financial policies.
- Foster a collaborative environment within the finance team and with other departments.
- Cash Flow & Treasury Management:
- Manage cash flow to ensure optimal capital utilization and financial stability.
- Work with banks and financial institutions to ensure smooth treasury operations.
- Monitor working capital and manage accounts payable and receivable effectively.
- Audit & Risk Management:
- Oversee internal audits and financial risk management activities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and local financial regulations, mitigating any financial risks.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:
- Act as a key point of contact for the company’s financial matters in Malaysia.
- Communicate effectively in English with internal stakeholders, senior management, and external partners.
- Provide strategic insights and financial advice to support business decisions.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. MBA, CPA, or equivalent qualification is preferred.
- At least 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Industry experience is flexible; candidates do not need to be from the same industry.
- Hands-on experience in financial closing, taxation, audit, and budgeting is essential.
- Experience managing a small finance team, including overseeing 2 accountants.
- Excellent spoken and written English is essential.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data.
- In-depth knowledge of local financial regulations and tax laws in Malaysia.
