Job Scopes and Responsibilities for a Dr Vet specializing in AQINA Farming:
Health Monitoring and Disease Prevention:
-Contribute in Chicken growth performance, improve farm FCR performance
-Conduct regular health inspections of the poultry flock.
-Implement disease prevention measures such as vaccination programs and biosecurity protocols.
-Diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries in poultry.
Chicken House and Environment Management:
-Assess and optimize the housing conditions and environmental factors affecting poultry health and welfare.
-Advise on ventilation, temperature control, lighting, and other environmental aspects of poultry housing.
-Implement strategies to prevent and manage issues like overcrowding, litter management, and waste disposal.
Nutrition Management:
-Monitor feed quality and recommend prevention treatment or treatment as needed.
-Provide expertise on nutritional requirements for different stages of poultry growth and production.
Breeding and Genetics:
-Assist in selecting breeding stock and developing breeding programs to improve flock performance and genetics.
-Provide guidance on mating strategies, genetic selection criteria, and pedigree management.
-Monitor and evaluate breeding outcomes to enhance productivity and quality traits in poultry.
Disease Diagnosis and Treatment:
-Conduct diagnostic tests and analyses to identify poultry diseases and health issues.
-Prescribe and administer appropriate medications and treatments.
-Maintain records of treatment protocols and disease outbreaks for monitoring and analysis.
Emergency Response and Disease Control:
-Develop emergency response plans for disease outbreaks and other health crises.
-Implement biosecurity measures to prevent the spread of contagious diseases within and across poultry farms.
-Coordinate with Farm Executives and Farm Supervisor on disease control and eradication efforts.
Education and Training:
-Educate Poultry Farm Executive, Supervisor and staffs on best practices for poultry health and management.
-Provide training sessions and workshops on topics such as disease prevention, biosecurity, and proper handling and care of poultry.
-Offer technical support and guidance to farm on implementing recommended protocols and procedures.
Research and Development:
-Stay updated on advancements in poultry health, nutrition, and management practices.
-Conduct research projects or collaborate with other professionals to address specific challenges or explore new opportunities in poultry farming.
-Publish findings and contribute to the scientific knowledge base in the field of poultry veterinary medicine.
Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:
-Ensure compliance with government regulations, standards, and guidelines pertaining to poultry farming, animal welfare, and veterinary practices.
-Coordinate and prepare for audits and inspections conducted by the Department of Veterinary Services or other regulatory agencies.
-Review and update farm protocols, procedures, and documentation to meet regulatory requirements.
-Address any non-compliance issues identified during audits by developing corrective action plans and implementing necessary improvements.
-Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory inquiries and communications, maintaining positive relationships with government officials and inspectors.
-Stay informed about changes in regulations and communicate updates to Farm Executives and Farm Supervisor, implementing necessary changes to maintain compliance.
