The Fire Fighting System Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and servicing fire protection systems, including fire alarms, sprinklers, pumps, and extinguishers. Qualifications:

Education: Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, or related technical fields.

Experience:

Certifications: Fire safety or related technical certifications (e.g., NFPA, OSHA, CIDB) are preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of fire detection and suppression systems.
  • Hands-on experience with fire pumps, alarms, and sprinkler systems.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation and Setup:

Install and configure fire detection and suppression systems such as fire alarms, sprinkler systems, fire pumps, extinguishers, and smoke detectors.

Ensure systems are installed according to design plans, regulations, and customer requirements.

  • Maintenance and Inspection:

Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance of fire protection systems to ensure functionality and compliance with safety standards.

Troubleshoot and repair any faults or malfunctions in fire fighting systems, ensuring minimal downtime.

  • Testing and Commissioning:

Test fire alarms, sprinklers, and other fire suppression systems to verify they meet operational standards and fire safety regulations.

Complete necessary commissioning reports and documentation for each project.

  • Compliance and Safety:

Ensure that all work performed is in compliance with local, national, and international fire safety regulations (e.g., NFPA standards).

Maintain an up-to-date understanding of fire safety equipment and standards.

  • Client Interaction:

Provide technical support and advice to clients on fire safety systems.

Respond promptly to emergency calls for system troubleshooting and repairs.

Working Conditions:

  • Fieldwork is required, with time spent on various construction or industrial sites.
  • Occasional after-hours or emergency call-out work.
