Executive, Forwarding Coordinator

Job Purpose:

Support Head of Forwarding Unit in supervising and administering all facets of logistics operations across East Malaysia. This includes overseeing freight forwarding activities, coordinating and tracking the transit of merchandise, ensuring adherence to regulations and industry norms and fostering robust partnerships with customers, service providers and vendors.

Accountabilities

1) Support Head of Forwarding in overseeing and enhancing different elements of the supply chain to guarantee streamlined and effective processes

• Assesses the percentage of shipments successfully delivered by Logistics Service Provider (LSP) to either the customer or the Bernas warehouse within the specified time frame that outlined in the contract
• Enhance delivery planning and coordination, the LSP can leverage available Route Order Tickets (ROT) while taking into account the maximum parking slot availability at the warehouse

2) Provide support to Head of Forwarding by conducting a thorough analysis of trends and patterns in detention and demurrage charges, identifying inefficiencies and pinpointing opportunities for strategic improvement

• Analyze charges areas of inefficiency by identifying specific causing delays or additional costs incur.
• Utilize insights from data analysis to plan cargo movement strategically and allocate resources efficiently to prevent delays
• Negotiate favorable terms with carriers and terminals seek longer free time to manage costs. Be prepared to resolve unforeseen challenges promptly

3) Coordinating and supervising direct delivery shipments, enrolling new clients, assessing the safety conditions of the facility, overseeing the rate of unloading and managing the return of containers issue

• Conduct an assessment to determine the safety of the customer's premises for container delivery and manage the allocation of the delivery volumes in accordance with the space available at the customer's site

4) Executing the role of vigilant custodian over the assembly and scrutiny of all critical documents necessary for the transportation of merchandise, ensuring they are in impeccable order and rigorously examined to meet the stringent criteria set forth by the Logistics Service Provider (LSP) before the initiation of the shipping process

• Conducting a comprehensive audit of all shipping-related documentation to confirm their accuracy, completeness and compliance with both international shipping regulations and specific requirements of the Logistics Service Provider (LSP).
• This includes the meticulous examination of bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin and any other pertinent documents that must be presented in a timely manner.
• The objective is to facilitate a seamless and efficient customs clearance and transportation process thereby minimizing potential delays and avoiding costly penalties or shipment rejections

5) Engagement with logistics stakeholders such as terminal operators, liners, Royal Customs, Maqis, Kementerian Kesihatan and KawalSelia Padi dan Beras

• Conduct or attend operational meetings with others government agency to ensure smooth operations in compliance with stipulated acts and regulations

6) Develop an innovative operational strategy collaboratively with key division members to drive continuous improvement

• Representative of the Logistics department, collaborative with key stakeholders to identify and explore innovations and safety enhancements for improving receiving operation efficiency

Job Requirements:

1. Qualification:

• Degree in Business/ Management/ International Business/ Supply Chain/ Logistics/ Transportaion

2. Years of Working Experience:

• Minimum 5 to 7 years experience

4) Additional certification

• KEK - Executive Level
• Incoterm 2020
• CMILT - added value advantage

5. Functional/Technical Skills & Knowledge

• Good in Microsoft Office packages
• Good interpersonal & communication skills with all stakeholders
• Good functional in supply chain/ logistics regulations
• Great exposure in project & contract logistics

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
