We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Retail Convenience Store Operations Training Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive training programs to enhance the operational effectiveness and efficiency of our retail convenience stores. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, subject matter experts, and store operations team to ensure that training initiatives align with our organizational goals and deliver optimal results.

Responsibilities:

1. Training Strategy and Program Development:

  • Develop and execute a strategic training plan for retail convenience store operations to address skill gaps, operational challenges, and organizational objectives.
  • Identify training needs through performance analysis, feedback from stakeholders, and close collaboration with store managers.
  • Design, develop, and deliver comprehensive training programs, including new employee onboarding, product knowledge, customer service, loss prevention, and operational procedures.

2. Review and Improve Existing Training Program:

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the current training structure, program, syllabus, delivery methods, and assessment strategies for existing training programs.
  • Identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to enhance the impact and effectiveness of training initiatives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather feedback, conduct surveys, and analyze training data to make data-driven recommendations for improvement.

3. Curriculum Design and Content Development:

  • Design and create engaging and interactive training curriculum, materials, and resources, utilizing various instructional techniques and technologies.
  • Develop training content in multiple formats, such as e-learning modules, instructor-led presentations, videos, job aids, and hands-on exercises.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and store managers to ensure accuracy and relevance of training materials, incorporating best practices and industry standards.

4. Training Delivery and Facilitation:

  • Conduct training sessions for store employees at various levels, from frontline staff to store managers, utilizing effective training methodologies and techniques.
  • Deliver engaging and interactive training sessions that promote active participation, knowledge retention, and practical application of learned skills.
  • Ensure consistency and quality of training delivery across multiple store locations, working closely with regional trainers and store managers.

5. Lead and Develop Training Team:

  • Lead a team of trainers responsible for executing training programs and initiatives.
  • Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to the training team to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality training.
  • Set performance goals, conduct performance evaluations, and identify development opportunities for training team members.
  • Manage the training team's workload, schedule, and resources to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Lead and inspire the training team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, growth, and collaboration.
  • Identify opportunities for professional development and training for the training team to enhance their skills and knowledge.

6. Training Evaluation and Effectiveness:

  • Establish evaluation methods and metrics to measure the effectiveness and impact of training programs.
  • Conduct post-training assessments, surveys, and evaluations to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
  • Analyze training data and performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of training initiatives and make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.

7. Compliance and Operational Standards:

  • Ensure training programs align with legal requirements, industry regulations, and operational standards.
  • Stay updated on relevant regulations and industry best practices to ensure training materials are current and compliant.

8. Team Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, operations, and marketing, to align training initiatives with business objectives and strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with store managers and frontline employees to understand their training needs and provide ongoing support and guidance.

9. Training Documentation and Administration:

  • Maintain accurate training records, including attendance, evaluations, and certifications.
  • Manage training schedules, logistics, and resources to ensure smooth execution of training programs.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate training initiatives, progress, and outcomes to senior management

Job Requirement

1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

2. Proven experience (8+ years) in training program development and delivery, preferably in the retail or convenience store industry.

3. In-depth knowledge of retail convenience store operations, including customer service,

merchandising, inventory management, and compliance.

4. Strong instructional design skills with the ability to develop engaging and effective training materials

for diverse audiences.

5. Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate trainees.

6. Knowledge of adult learning principles and training methodologies.

7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess training needs and evaluate the effectiveness

of training programs.
