Job Scope / Position Summary

  1. Assist to manage all underwriting aspect of Casualty Lines of business.
  2. Assist to formulate and execute strategies to grow target business for Casualty Lines of business.
  3. Contribute to maintain profitability of Casualty Lines of business.
  4. Provide technical assistance to both internal and external parties for underwriting matters related to Casualty Lines of business.

Main Responsibility

  1. Underwrite all classes of Casualty Lines of business within the given underwriting authority limits, guidelines, monitor all the technical underwriting processes and acceptance of Casualty Lines of business.
  2. Providing underwriting assistance to the marketing and business units relating to Casualty Lines of business.
  3. Assist to execute strategies to grow the targeted business towards the projected growth by collaborating with business units.
  4. Ensure strict compliance to Regional/ Local Guidelines, External Guidelines and Treaty Protection in force at all times.
  5. Assist to provide statistic on Casualty Lines of business to the Head of Casualty and Financial Lines so to perform the regular analysis of Casualty Lines business portfolio and act where necessary to ensure the profitability is maintained at the desired level.
  6. Ensure excellent customer service is always extended to internal and external customers within the set of service standards.
  7. Close monitoring of Casualty Lines portfolio performance and if necessary to highlight any potential adverse claims trend and to take necessary underwriting mitigating action during the risk assessment process.
  8. Others Responsibility Undertake other responsibilities or projects as assigned.

Qualification and Experience Requirement

  • Degree in Accounting, Economics, Management, Investment, Finance, Law, Business Administration, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Physics, Or Relevant Certification.
  • Preferably Tertiary qualification in insurance related such as AMII/CII/CMII/DMCII or equivalent insurance qualification.
  • Minimum 0 to 2 years’ experience in general insurance industry.
  • Intermediate to advance level of computer operating and Microsoft word/Excel.
  • Possess good communication skills – written and oral.
  • Basic underwriting knowledge of general insurance.
  • Good analytical skill.
