Data Engineering and Analytics Specialist

Position Overview

We seek a dynamic and highly motivated Data Engineer to join our Data & Analytics team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in data engineering within the financial services sector. You will play a key role in ingesting, validating, optimizing, and analyzing data to support business decision-making, leveraging various tools and technologies, and collaborating with stakeholders to drive insights and strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• ETL development and maintenance: Responsible for the maintenance of current and new ETL tasks. Optimise current process flows of the ETL (MySQL, Airflow) – Non-Negotiable.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilize MySQL, MS SQL Server, and SAP Business Objects to analyze complex datasets and generate insightful reports.
• Data Pipeline Management: Develop, monitor, and maintain data pipelines using Apache Airflow to ensure seamless data flow across systems.
• Business Intelligence Development: Create and manage dashboards and visualizations in Microsoft Power BI to facilitate data-driven decision-making across the organization.
• Cloud Data Management: Work with data stored on Huawei Cloud (RDS), ensuring data integrity, availability, and security.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with both business and technical stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into actionable insights.
• Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest trends in data analytics / engineering and be open to learning new tools and techniques to enhance your analytical capabilities.
• Presentation & Communication: Present findings and insights in a clear, concise manner, tailored to the audience’s level of understanding.
• Build and maintain Power Apps and Power Automate solutions.
  
  

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology Systems, or a related field.
• Experience: 3-5 years of experience in data engineering, preferably within the financial services sector.
  
  

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in MySQL and MS SQL Server.
• Experience with SAP Business Objects.
• Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (Beneficial).
• Knowledge and experience working on ETL tools (non-negotiable).
• Knowledge of Apache Airflow for data pipeline management.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Power BI for creating reports and dashboards.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Huawei Cloud (RDS).
• Knowledge and experience working on the Power platform (PowerApps & Power Automate) will be beneficial.
