Presales refers to activities carried out before a customer is acquired. Presales Engineer work closely with sales, service, engineering, and technical support resourzces to ensure proposed deals include technical solutions that address customer needs. Ultimately, presales is about closing the deal/sales and transition the deliverables to project delivery team.

  • Developing solutions and organizing, planning, creating & delivering compelling proof of concept demonstrations
  • Ensuring solutions stated in the Statement of Work are best practice and in line with client requirements
  • Managing the sales bid process by responding to RFI’s & RFP’s (including develop and prepare proposal, presentation and address technical clarification)
  • Working closely with Sales to ensure successful closure of the sales process
  • After the sales (deal close), transition the project deliverables, functional requirement, timeline, expectation, risks and etc to project manager and project delivery team, include the risks.
  • Liaising with Product managers to provide feedback from clients about product requirements
  • Keeping abreast of market trends and product & competitor landscapes
  • Maintain technical competency and attending training and exam.
  • Continue enrich and improve technical knowledge
  • Maintain relationship with customers and principals.

Requirement

  • Possess a Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
  • Have product certifications (i.e. HPE Certified, VMware certified, Aruba certified and etc)
  • Have prior experience within presales
  • Possess strong problem solving and prioritization skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and are adept at working with multiple stakeholders
  • Competitive mindset, proactive, excellent numeracy and creative when come to addressing customer challenges
  • Ability to research and keep on top of industry developments

Working hours

  • You'll typically work a standard week. However, you may be on call outside office hours, at weekends or in the evenings, public holiday and need to be flexible in case of:
    • RFQ/RFP period (when participating in RFP/RFQ, sales and presales may need to work extra hour to get the proposal, pricing done before the submission date, this including printing, binding the proposal)
    • Site survey activity - at customer request, presales, sales or technical and engineer may visit customer designated location to perform respective tasks. (i.e. Presales - site survey, assessment, system study, data collection, interact with site personnel and etc)
