Our client “GLOBAL KIARA SDN BHD" is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their company!
What you’ll be doing?
- Cost Estimation: Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates for tenders, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Develop and maintain comprehensive cost databases and analysis reports.
- Cost Control: Monitor and control project costs throughout the lifecycle, including tracking expenditures, managing budgets, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Provide regular financial reports and forecasts to senior management.
- Procurement Management: Oversee procurement processes, including the preparation and issuance of tenders (Bill of Quantities), evaluation of bids, and negotiation of contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials and services within budget constraints.
- Contract Administration: Manage and administer contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
- Address and resolve any contract-related issues or disputes that arise during the project.
- Assist in checking and verification of sub-contractors’ progress claim and V.O works.
- Supply Chain Management: Leverage supply chain management expertise to optimize the sourcing and delivery of materials and services.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure efficient supply chain operations.
- Project Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and present detailed financial reports, including cost breakdowns, expenditure summaries, and budget forecasts.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to support project decision-making.
- Apply knowledge of transmission and distribution systems to accurately assess project costs and requirements.
- Provide cost analysis and support for projects involving electrical transmission and distribution infrastructure.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all financial transactions, procurement activities, and project costs, ensuring that proper filing and document control for various documents (correspondence, sub-contractors’ progress claim and payment certificate, Main contractor’s claim, etc) are well-kept.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination of project activities.
- Provide cost-related advice and support to project teams
Who are they looking for?
- At least Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., RICS, MRICS) is a plus.
- Chain management and cost estimation.
- Experience working in a contractor firm or QS consultant firm is advantageous
- Experience in transmission and distribution projects is highly desirable.
- Proven track record in managing procurement processes, controlling costs, and administering contracts.
- Skills: o Strong numerical and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in costing. o Proficiency in cost estimation software and tools.
- Excellent understanding of supply chain management principles and practices.
- Solid knowledge of the materials and equipment involved in transmission and distribution systems.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with vendors, clients, and project teams.
- Certifications: Relevant professional certifications (e.g., RICS, MRICS) are preferred
