Job Purpose

The Asset and Facilities Department Intern will assist with the management, maintenance, and optimization of the institution’s facilities and assets. This internship provides practical exposure to the operations of asset management, facility maintenance, and compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the inventory management and tracking of university assets, including equipment and furniture.
  • Support the maintenance of building facilities, including air conditioning systems, electrical systems, and general repairs.
  • Help monitor and maintain the cleanliness and safety of campus facilities.
  • Assist in the coordination of facility inspections and reporting on repair or maintenance needs.
  • Update and maintain asset databases, ensuring accurate records of assets and facilities.
  • Support in preparing reports on asset usage, maintenance schedules, and facility conditions.
  • Assist with vendor coordination for repairs, servicing, or procurement of new assets.
  • Participate in project planning and execution related to campus renovations or facility upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all aspects of facility management.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Asset and Facilities Manager.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a diploma or degree in Facilities Management, Asset Management, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Basic understanding of facility operations and asset management principles.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
