To assess, plan, conduct and evaluate all aspect of clinical care to patients based on accreditation standards and Professional Code of Conduct to achieve customer satisfaction and patient safety in the area of “Endoscopy & Day Surgery Unit”.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recognize and work within own competence and Professional Code of Conduct as regulated and governed by Nursing Board Malaysia / Lembaga Jururawat Malaysia.
  • Effective assistant in endoscopy procedures by maintaining correct aseptic technique, maintain sterile environment in the endoscopy procedure rooms and to coordinate safe peri-procedure care throughout the process.
  • Ensuring and promoting safe working practice by following agreed guidelines and SOPs
  • Monitoring and recording patient’s health status consistently to ensure all patient progress are complete to ensure efficient patient recovery.
  • Effectively preparing procedure room, sterile instruments, equipment, supplies and not least the surgeons requested/preferred specialized equipment / consumable for all surgical procedures in order to provide safe patient care throughout procedure.
  • Check all medical equipment/devices prior to use ensuring proper functioning and with valid planned preventive maintenance.
  • Responding to endoscopic emergency requirements such as hemorrhage.
  • Perform effective clinical handover and demonstrating effective patients care and discharge planning by providing appropriate patient education.
  • Ensuring cleanliness of Endoscopy/ Day Surgery and all equipment utilization including Infection Control Policies and patient progress is complete to ensure efficient patient recovery.
  • Ensure consistent delivering care in compliance to Clinical Governance system, IPSGs/MPSGs, MOH regulations, MSQH standards and Professional Code of Conduct.
  • Requirements:

    • Min 2 years Working Experience in healthcare or related services
    • Diploma and or Degree in Nursing.
    • Registered with Malaysian Nursing Board.
    • Valid Annual Practicing Certificate.
    • Post Basic qualification relevant in specialty / discipline.
    • BLS and preferably ALS Certification.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize patient needs.
