Principle Responsibilities:
Quality Control and Assurance -
- Develop, implement, and monitor quality control procedures to ensure the production of industrial gases/liquid meets required purity and quality standards.
- Develop system and procedures to conduct inspections and testing on in-process samples, products from storage tanks, tankers, and pipeline supply to verify compliance with specifications.
- Develop system, process, and procedures to maintain analyzers and laboratory equipment calibration, annual calibration plan and performance effectiveness.
- Support site(s) procedures to perform chemical and physical analyses of gas products using techniques such as gas chromatography (GC) and oxygen purity testing. This shall include water sampling and analysis procedures for plant utilities if required. Address and resolve any product deviations or quality issues, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- The ownership of internal centralize laboratory that setting up at central plant. The analyzers that installed at On-site operations plants remains the responsibilities of respective site operation manager.
- Coordinate with site operation team to collect liquid sample & conduct periodic products analysis from centralize laboratory.
- Prepare procedure and guidelines for issuance of Certificates of Analysis (COA) for each batch of product by plant personnel, detailing the results of quality tests and confirming product specifications.
- Generate Certificates of Conformance (COC) to certify that products meet specific customer requirements and industry standards.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of COA and COC documentation, maintaining records for compliance and customer reference.
- Develop and establish detailed product specifications for all industrial gases produced, including purity levels, composition, and quality standards. Collaborate production teams to define and update product specifications based on customer requirements and industry advancements.
5. Process Improvement
- Identify and implement improvements in quality control processes to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
- Monitor quality trends and work with the production team to address any deviations or quality issues promptly.
6. Documentation and Reporting
- Ensure respective departments maintain accurate records of quality control activities, test results, and product specifications.
- Prepare and present quality reports to management with the support of various departments, highlighting trends, non-conformances, and areas for improvement.
7. Customer Management
- Work with sales/marketing and production team to understand customer’s quality requirements, ensuring that gas products meet or exceed their expectations.
- Customize COA and COC documentation to address specific customer needs and regulatory compliance.
- Prepare necessary documentation and records for customer audits, and address any non-conformances or concerns raised during audits.
- Address and resolve any customer complaints related to product quality in a timely manner with the support of internal teams.
8. Training and Development
- Develop and conduct training sessions for internal teams to ensure they understand the quality management system and are equipped to perform quality-related tasks.
HALAL Management
- Halal Certification Management: Develop documentation, coordinate and manage the application, renewal, and maintenance of Halal certification from JAKIM or relevant authorities.
- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure all products, processes, and suppliers comply with Halal requirements, including ingredient sourcing and manufacturing practices.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate documentation and records of Halal-related procedures, certifications, audits, minutes of meeting for Internal Halal Committee, and Management review.
- Internal Audits: Conduct regular internal audits to verify compliance with Halal standards and address any non-conformances.
- Staff Training: Provide Halal awareness and training programs to employees to ensure proper understanding of Halal requirements and procedures.
- Regulatory Liaison: Act as the main point of contact with local authorities, such as JAKIM, for any Halal-related matters, including audits and inspections.
- System: Update Halal Assurance System (HAS) as per JAKIM requirements.
ISO System Maintenance (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and other relevant standards as required by business needs) -
- ISO System Oversight: Act as the primary Management Representative for the ISO quality management system, ensuring its effective implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
- Internal Audits: Plan, conduct, and manage internal audits to assess compliance with ISO standards. Prepare audit reports and follow up on corrective actions for any non-conformities.
- External Audits: Coordinate with external auditors during ISO certification audits and manage the preparation of necessary documentation and evidence.
- Documentation Control: Develop, review, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality documentation to ensure compliance with ISO standards.
- Management Reviews: Organize and facilitate management review meetings, presenting performance data, audit results, and improvement recommendations.
- Training: Ensure that all employees are trained on ISO standards, quality procedures, and changes to the quality management system. Develop and deliver training programs as needed.
- Compliance Monitoring: Continuously monitor and assess processes to ensure ongoing compliance with ISO standards.
Job Requirements:
1. Education and Knowledge -
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, or a related field.
- Knowledge of industrial gas production processes and chemical analysis techniques.
2. Working experience -
- 3-5 years of experience in quality assurance/quality control, preferably in industrial gases or chemical processing.
- Experience with customer audits, preparing COA/COC documentation, and managing product specifications.
- Proven track record of training and supporting internal teams to enhance quality performance alongside their daily functions.
