Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Compliance Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong legal background, particularly in venture capital, with experience in dealing with regulatory bodies and authorities. You will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of our operations and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the company’s compliance program, policies, and procedures.
• Monitor and assess compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors during inspections and inquiries.
• Conduct risk assessments and compliance audits, identifying areas for improvement.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance matters and best practices.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes affecting venture capital operations and advise senior management accordingly.
• Prepare and submit necessary regulatory filings and reports.
• Investigate compliance breaches and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with legal counsel to address compliance issues and ensure alignment with company policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance, specifically within the venture capital or financial services industry.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks affecting venture capital funds.
• Proven experience interacting with regulatory bodies and authorities.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex compliance issues clearly.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct legal experience related to compliance and regulatory matters in venture capital.
• Familiarity with relevant regulations such as the Investment Company Act, SEC regulations, and state securities laws.
• Experience in developing compliance training programs.
