Software Tester

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Software Tester with 2 years of experience to join our dynamic team. As a Software Tester, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of our software applications through rigorous testing processes. You will work closely with developers, business analysts, and project stakeholders to deliver high-quality software products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and analyse system specifications.
• Develop and document test plans and test cases based on requirements.
• Identify test scenarios and prepare test data.
• Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyse results.
• Report bugs and errors to development teams.
• Conduct post-release/post-implementation testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Participate in design and code reviews to provide input on testability.
• Create and maintain detailed test documentation.
• Document and report test results, track defects using bug tracking tools.
• Stay updated with new testing tools and strategies.
• Continuously improve testing processes and practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2 years of experience in software testing.
• Strong understanding of software testing principles and methodologies.
• Experience with manual testing; familiarity with automated testing tools is a plus.
• Knowledge of testing web and desktop applications.
• Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Familiarity with bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in testing applications in the banking, payment card industry, or oil and gas sectors.

Knowledge of SQL and scripting.

Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
