Production Managers (Automative/Manufacturing MNC)

Objective of the Position

  • Manages a Production Unit of direct employees plus the employees of the Support Functions ensuring SOP on time
  • Setting up plant, managing production lines and related tooling & fixtures
  • Line manager the Support Functions.
  • Member in the plant management team.
  • Taking up tasks assign by the superior from time to time

Accountabilities

The position incumbent ensures, that:

Production Unit

  • Involved in TPM system in plant, managing the status of equipment, spare parts and related maintenance taskforce.
  • Cooperating with the program managers for the successful new program introduction to Asia, managing related outsourcing of fixtures, tooling and related engineering service
  • With the Lean Manufacturing thoughts and tools, defining an effective process for the manufacturing system and continuously improve it.
  • Assure production plans and the feasibility of the production plans.
  • Meet established customer specifications concerning quality, cost, cycle time, quantity and delivery.
  • Prepare (manufacturing) input for the production unit's budget and maintain the budget.
  • Manage the Production Team: Assure appropriate staffing, maintain working environment according to
  • Group health, safety and environment (HSE) standards, detect and advise training needs,
  • Ensure daily production unit meeting is effective and adding value.
  • To assure that customer demands are properly met.
  • Implement action plans in order to improve functionality/ productivity and to obtain program and
  • Responsible for labor resource planning.
  • Responsible for all production activity reporting and driving overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Fulfill production schedule according to planner demands.
  • Implement state environmental laws and company’s regulation, as well cooperate to general manager
  • Supervise, review and inspect own department environmental objective, indicator

Launch

  • Drive launch management / industrialization
  • Lead the cross-functional launch team in the plan
  • Align task status regularly with Program Manager & Participate in regular Core Team Meetings
  • Prepare, coordinate and track timeline for launch
  • Check and coordinate component material required dates to support all product development and production builds
  • Ensure reliable implementation of operational standards
  • On time to collect & Monitor launch budget, including actual spending and report status at monthly basis to Controlling and Plant Manager
  • Conduct production trials and assure delivery and production ramp-up according to program schedule
  • Address risks and opportunities with the program team
  • Act cross-functionally in order to achieve optimized results in terms of time, quality, profitability and customer value―aligned
  • Production trials, samples, launch volumes and launch budget are on time and within cost and quality requirements
  • Escalate conflicts when program objectives are at risk
  • Ensure implementation of operational standards
  • Ensure communication regarding skill requirements, training, required headcount, handling of new technologies etc. to the corresponding departments

Requirement Profile

Professional Background / Basic Qualification / Work Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering disciplines
  • More than 5 years working experience in manufacturing plant
  • Managerial experience in leading a team for both manufacturing & process engineering is prefer
  • Prefer to have managerial experience on running production especially on automotive related field.
  • Able to work as a team and communicating well.
  • Experience in launch is prefer.

Technical Expertise:

  • Knowledge of Quality systems such as ISO14001, ISO9001, TS16949, VDA6.3 and tools in added advantage.
  • Experience of Lean manufacturing
  • Skilled in cooperating and communicating in matrix organization
