Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and energetic Event Coordinator who specializes in coordinating catering events, buffet setups, client management, and business development. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of event planning and execution while ensuring client satisfaction and identifying new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Coordination & Catering:

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their catering needs and preferences.
  • Plan, organize, and execute catering events, ensuring smooth operations from start to finish.
  • Set up and manage buffet-style dining, ensuring proper presentation, food safety, and timely service.
  • Coordinate with vendors, chefs, and service staff to ensure seamless delivery of food and beverage services.
  • Manage event timelines and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the event.

Client Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining open and consistent communication throughout the event planning process.
  • Address client inquiries, concerns, and last-minute requests with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Provide on-site event support and ensure clients’ needs are met during the event.

Business Development:

  • Actively seek out new business opportunities and partnerships within the catering and events industry.
  • Develop relationships with corporate clients, wedding planners, and other event organizers to expand the company’s client base.
  • Create and implement strategies to promote services and increase event bookings.
  • Attend industry events, expos, and networking opportunities to grow the company’s presence and reputation.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in event planning, particularly in catering and buffet-style setups.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with an ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to handle client relationships and vendor negotiations.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement business development strategies.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in the hospitality or catering industry.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
  • Experience with budgeting, invoicing, and financial reporting for events.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, depending on event schedules.

Salary: RM 2,800 – RM4,500
