Head of Operation & Maintenance (Solar Energy)

Job Descriptions

1. Leadership and Management:

- Lead and manage the O&M team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.

- Develop and implement O&M strategies and plans to maximize the efficiency and lifespan of solar assets.

- Foster a culture of safety, excellence, and continuous improvement within the team.

2. Operational Oversight:

- Oversee the day-to-day operations of solar energy plants, ensuring they operate at optimal performance levels.

- Monitor plant performance through advanced monitoring systems and implement corrective actions when necessary.

- Manage the scheduling and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

3. Technical Expertise:

- Provide technical guidance and support for troubleshooting complex issues related to solar PV systems.

- Stay updated with the latest advancements in solar technology and integrate new practices to enhance operational efficiency.

- Ensure the proper maintenance of equipment, including inverters, transformers, panels, and tracking systems.

4. Compliance and Reporting:

- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.

- Prepare and submit regular reports on operational performance, maintenance activities, and incidents.

- Liaise with regulatory bodies, clients, and other stakeholders regarding operational and maintenance matters.

5. Budgeting and Financial Management:

- Develop and manage the O&M budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and maintenance practices.

- Monitor and control expenditures, aiming to reduce operational costs without compromising quality and safety.

- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

6. Customer Relations:

- Maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their concerns and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

- Communicate effectively with clients regarding maintenance schedules, performance updates, and any issues.

7. Project Management:

- Oversee the execution of O&M projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

- Coordinate with other departments for the seamless integration of new projects and upgrades to existing systems.

Job Requirements

• BSc/Msc in Electrical, renewable/solar energy field or equivalent
• Minimum 3-years experience in Solar PV industry
• Minimum 3 years’ technical experience in maintaining and troubleshooting machinery or electrical equipment, preferred in the renewable energy industry
• Preferred experience with PV maintenance, including DC systems, AC medium voltage systems, and network communications and monitoring
• Computer proficiency and ability to use Microsoft Office software
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
