Job Title: English Teacher
Location: Beacon Hill Scholars, Gamuda Kemuning, Selangor.
Job Type: Full-Time
Reporting to: Head Teacher
Overview:
Beacon Hill Scholars is seeking a passionate and dynamic English Teacher to join our dedicated team. We offer a unique educational experience that blends the Cambridge curriculum with the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality English lessons, fostering a love for language and literature, and supporting the holistic development of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English lessons in line with the Cambridge curriculum and IPC framework.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that are engaging, student-centered, and aligned with learning objectives.
- Employ a variety of instructional strategies, including differentiated instruction, to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Assess and monitor student progress through formal and informal assessments, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
- Maintain accurate records of student achievement, attendance, and progress.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create interdisciplinary learning experiences and share best teaching practices.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that encourages active participation and critical thinking.
- Engage in professional development opportunities to stay updated with educational trends and teaching methodologies.
- Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and staff meetings, contributing to the wider school community.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, concerns, and upcoming events.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field. A teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, CELTA) is preferred.
- Proven experience teaching English, ideally within the Cambridge curriculum framework or IPC.
- Strong knowledge of British English grammar, literature, and writing skills.
- Ability to create an engaging and supportive learning environment.
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to handle various student needs.
- Passion for fostering creativity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning in students.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
