RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE:

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor and manage the inventory of medical and non-medical supplies in the healthcare facility.
  • Conduct regular audits to track stock levels, expiration dates, and usage patterns.
  • Utilize inventory management software to accurately record and track stock movements.

Receiving and Issuing:

  • Receive deliveries of supplies and verify their accuracy and condition.
  • Label, sort, and properly store items in designated storage areas.
  • Process and fulfill requests for supplies from different departments within the facility.

Distribution and Distribution Tracking:

  • Distribute supplies to various departments according to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of supply distribution and usage to ensure accountability and cost-effectiveness.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that all supplies meet required quality and safety standards.
  • Handle recalls or defective items in coordination with appropriate departments and suppliers.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain up-to-date documentation related to inventory, orders, and supplies.
  • Generate regular reports on inventory levels, consumption patterns, and supply expenses.

Collaboration and Communication:

Collaborate with healthcare professionals, administrators, stakeholders to understand supply needs and preferences.

Basic Requirements and Skills needed:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in inventory management or related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience in inventory management or a similar role, preferably within a healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
