Armoury Officer / Pegawai AMRA
The role:
The Armoury Guard is responsible for the protection, security, and management of armoury facilities and stored weapons. This role ensures that all equipment is accounted for, securely stored, and handled in compliance with legal and safety regulations. The ideal candidate is an ex-serviceman with a solid network of contacts in law enforcement and military authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Security Monitoring
- Monitor and control access to the armoury to prevent unauthorized entry.
- Conduct regular patrols of the armoury and surrounding areas to deter and detect suspicious activity.
2. Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate records of all weapons and ammunition stored in the armoury.
- Conduct regular inventory checks to ensure all items are accounted for and in good condition.
3. Equipment Maintenance:
- Ensure that all firearms and related equipment are properly maintained and serviced.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
4. Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws regarding the storage and handling of weapons.
- Prepare and submit incident reports as required, documenting any security breaches or irregularities.
5. Training and Safety:
- Participate in ongoing training programs to stay current on security practices and firearm safety protocols.
- Educate personnel on proper handling and safety measures regarding weapons and ammunition.
6. Emergency Response:
- Respond to alarms and security breaches promptly and according to established protocols.
- Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services as necessary.
7. Scheduling and Deployment:
- Develop and manage the schedule for armed guards, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts and events.
- Coordinate the deployment of guards to various locations as needed, ensuring that all security needs are met.
8. Networking and Liaison:
- Leverage established relationships with law enforcement and military contacts to enhance security measures and address any issues that arise.
- Serve as a point of contact for authorities regarding any incidents or concerns related to the armoury.
9. Customer Service:
- Assist authorized personnel with access to the armoury and provide information as needed.
- Maintain a professional demeanor while interacting with staff and visitors.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; further education or training in security management preferred.
Experience: Previous police or military service with a focus on security or armoury management. Experience as an ex-serviceman is highly desirable.
Network: Established relationships with law enforcement and military authorities.
Certifications: Possession of a valid firearm permit and any relevant security certifications.
Skills:
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Proficient in the use of security technology and equipment.
- Physical fitness and ability to respond quickly in emergencies.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work in various environments, including outdoor conditions.
- May require shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift equipment as necessary.

Pay: From RM2,500.00 per month
