RWDI is seeking an individual to join our Building Performance team as a Junior or Intermediate Engineer. This position will be based in our Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) office.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Plan and coordinate all technical aspects of assigned projects
Conduct fluid flow and heat transfer modelling and simulations by following appropriate QA/QC procedures
This may include data collection, analysis, post-processing, interpretation, and documentation of engineering results
Providing technical advice and consulting with engineers, architects or external clients
Writing technical project reports that present methodology, results and recommendations
Working under the general supervision of senior staff with considerable latitude for the exercise of independent judgement
REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred) with a focus on fluid flow analysis including the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
3-5 years of experience in a commercial or academic setting
A strong knowledge of fluid flow physics, heat and mass transfer, CFD, turbulence modelling and numerical methods
Demonstrated problem solving and initiative skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced consulting environment with minimal supervision while multi-tasking to meet deadlines
An aptitude for working in a highly collaborative, team environment with excellent coordination and communication (both written and spoken) skills
Preference will be given to candidates with the following skillsets/experience:
Experience interpreting and working with architectural, structural, or mechanical drawings.
Experience with different analysis types in the urban realm, including thermal comfort, solar simulations, microclimate analysis, rain penetration, energy analysis and other elements of the urban realm.
Knowledge of HVAC systems and ASHRAE, URA, BCA or equivalent standards
Advanced level Microsoft Excel capabilities
Programming/scripting experience (Python, C++, C#, VBA)
Experience working within open source operating systems (Linux)
Ability to present complex information in simple ways to both technical and non-technical audiences
Competency accessing cloud/cluster computing array
