Key Responsibilities:

  • Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers and vendors that meet quality, cost, and Halal certification requirements. Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable delivery of products and services.
  • Procurement Operations: Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including preparing purchase orders, negotiating contracts, and monitoring delivery schedules to ensure timely receipt of goods and services.
  • Halal Compliance: Ensure all purchased products and materials meet Halal standards. Work closely with suppliers to obtain necessary Halal certifications and documentation. Stay updated with changes in Halal certification regulations and standards.
  • Cost Optimization: Analyze market trends and supplier performance to negotiate favorable terms and pricing. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality or Halal compliance.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse and production teams to manage stock levels efficiently. Implement effective inventory control measures to minimize waste and overstock.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the quality control team to inspect and verify the quality and Halal compliance of incoming materials. Address and resolve any quality issues with suppliers promptly.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier evaluations. Prepare regular reports on procurement metrics, cost analysis, and compliance status.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as production, quality assurance, and finance to ensure alignment of procurement activities with business goals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements in procurement practices to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall supply chain performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably within the food industry or Halal-certified products.
  • Strong knowledge of Halal standards and certification processes.
  • Proven experience in supplier negotiation and contract management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
  • Certification in supply chain management or procurement is a plus (e.g., CPSM, CIPS).

Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
