SERVICE TECHNICIAN - PENANG & JOHOR

Job Description:

We are seeking experienced and motivated Service Technicians to service, maintain, and repair a variety of forklift trucks. The ideal candidates will have a strong mechanical background, with a focus on forklifts or similar industrial equipment. You will be responsible for ensuring that our customers’ equipment is running at peak performance, providing timely repairs, and delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Maintenance & Repairs: Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on forklift trucks, including electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Diagnose & Troubleshoot: Accurately diagnose and troubleshoot issues with forklift equipment, utilizing diagnostic tools and software to identify root causes and implement effective solutions, reducing downtime.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Implement and carry out preventive maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime and extend the lifespan of forklift trucks, ensuring maximum efficiency for customers.
  • Field Service: Respond promptly to on-site service calls from customers, providing efficient and high-quality repairs, and minimizing operational disruptions. Be the face of the company in the field, ensuring customer satisfaction with timely and professional service.
  • Equipment Testing: Test and inspect forklifts after repairs to ensure they meet safety and operational standards before returning them to service, guaranteeing the reliability of the equipment.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in managing the inventory of spare parts and tools, ensuring that all necessary items are available for timely repairs. Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the parts department for replenishment as needed.
  • Customer Support: Provide expert advice and support to customers on proper forklift operation and maintenance practices. Offer training and guidance to help customers optimize their equipment use, fostering strong, long-term relationships.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate service records, including parts used, work performed, and time spent on each job, using the company’s service management system. Ensure all paperwork is completed promptly and accurately.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all company and industry safety protocols and procedures, promoting a safe working environment both in the workshop and at customer sites. Participate in regular safety training and audits.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest forklift technologies, industry best practices, and company training programs. Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute ideas for improving service processes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the after-sales, customer service, and technical teams to ensure seamless communication and resolution of customer issues. Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall success of the service department.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or certification in mechanical, electrical, or related fields.
  • Proven experience as a Service Technician, preferably in the forklift or heavy machinery industry.
  • Strong knowledge of forklift truck components and systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and customer-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • A valid driver’s license.
