This role is responsible for driving the implementation and maintenance of the SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) modules business application, ensuring adherence to best practices. It involves rolling out the SAP system, providing third-level support for escalated issues, and acting as a liaison between technical teams and the business. Additionally, the role ensures that all Technology services comply with Group and Division policies and standards.

Systems and software lifecycle engineering (L4)

  • Gathers requirements for system and software lifecycle processes and automation practices.
  • Develops design options for optimizing methods, procedures, tools, and team workflows.
  • Implements automation solutions to deliver efficient and secure outcomes.

Configuration Management (L4)

  • Proposes and establishes unique identification standards for configuration items (CIs) using agreed-upon naming conventions.
  • Implements operational processes to securely configure, classify, and manage CIs, ensuring the verification and auditing of configuration records.
  • Develops, configures, and maintains tools, including automation, to accurately identify, track, log, and update configuration information.
  • Reports on the status of configuration management, identifying issues and recommending corrective actions.

System Development Management (L4)

  • Contributes to the planning and oversight of systems development initiatives.
  • Applies appropriate systems development methods, tools, and techniques in accordance with established standards.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure deliverables meet requirements and quality expectations, managing risks and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Actively participates in the continuous improvement of systems development processes and practices.

Requirements Definition Management (L4)

  • Defines and manages scoping, requirements definition, and prioritization activities for medium-sized and complex initiatives.
  • Contributes to selecting the most suitable approach for gathering and managing requirements.
  • Facilitates stakeholder input, offers constructive challenges, and ensures effective prioritization of requirements.
  • Establishes requirements baselines or backlogs, secures appropriate approvals, and ensures traceability to the original source.
  • Contributes to selecting the software development methods, tools and techniques.
  • Applies agreed standards and tools to achieve well-engineered outcomes.
  • Participates in reviews of own work and leads reviews of colleagues' work.

Functional Testing (L4)

  • Develops detailed functional test cases and scripts that cover a range of scenarios and boundary conditions.
  • Actively engages in requirement and design reviews, refining test plans based on insights gained.
  • Conducts structured exploratory testing to investigate and validate system functionality.
  • Prepares test data, configures environments, and automates repetitive tests. Executes tests, logs defects with comprehensive details, and analyses results to evaluate system performance.

Application Support (L4)

Maintains application support processes, ensuring that all support requests are handled in accordance with established procedures.

Utilizes application management software and tools to investigate issues, gather performance statistics, and generate reports.
