We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated OSHA Officer to establish and lead our Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) department. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up the department, leading the OSHA committee, and overseeing coordinators to ensure compliance with all OSHA regulations and guidelines. This individual will play a critical role in developing and implementing health and safety policies, driving compliance, and fostering a culture of safety across the organization.

Job Description

  • Lead the creation and structuring of the OSHA department, including developing protocols, processes, and documentation aligned with OSHA standards.
  • Manage and guide the OSHA committee and safety coordinators, ensuring clarity of roles, responsibilities, and objectives.
  • Ensure that all organizational practices comply with OSHA regulations, including hazard identification, risk assessments, and safety audits.
  • Develop and implement safety training programs for employees at all levels of the organization, promoting a culture of safety awareness.
  • Oversee accident investigations, ensure proper documentation, and develop strategies to prevent future incidents.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA guidelines.
  • Prepare and submit mandatory OSHA reports, and maintain all required OSHA documentation.
  • Conduct regular inspections and internal audits to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
  • Stay current on OSHA updates and trends, ensuring that the organization proactively adapts to new regulations and best practices.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including HR, Operations, and Facilities to foster a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in occupational health and safety roles, with a minimum of 2 years leading a team or function in OSHA compliance.
  • Proven experience in setting up and managing safety programs in compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • OSHA certification (OSHA 30-Hour or 40-Hour), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or equivalent preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and risk management practices.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead committees and train employees.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office and safety management software.
  • Ability to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement corrective actions efficiently.
