Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Head of Business Development to spearhead collaborative efforts with Government, Government Agencies and Government-Linked Companies (GLCs). The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the growth and expansion of the business by identifying new market opportunities, establishing and nurturing relationships while driving business growth and brand visibility through innovative strategies and market understanding.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the business development strategy aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  • Strategic Partnership Development: Devise, plan, and execute strategies to engage prospective collaborative entities consistently, fostering strong rapport and partnerships. Collaborate with the Strategy & Corporate Communication, Marketing and Sales teams to develop initiatives that attract and retain customers.
  • Lead Generation: Generating leads and potential clients through various means, including meeting, networking, and attending industry events.
  • Business Facilitation: Coordinate with relevant government departments and agencies to address any matters, ensuring smooth business operations."
  • Event Management: Propose innovative ideas, organize webinars independently or in collaboration, and participate in roadshows/events to enhance brand awareness while educating MSMEs on leveraging financial resources and alternative financing solutions.
  • Performance Evaluation: Develop framework for periodic performance assessment, enabling informed decision-making and optimizing business strategies.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of business development professionals. Set performance targets and monitor team progress to ensure goals are achieved.
  • Government Engagement: Maintain continual involvement with Government and its related Agencies ensuring a strong and sustained relationship while retaining and expanding the existing customer base.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum qualification of a Professional certificate, SPM/STPM/Pre-U, Diploma, Degree in Business Administration, Mass Communication, or an equivalent field.
  • 2+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a similar leadership role, with at least 2 years in a management capacity.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication with exceptional persuasion and presentation abilities to forge new relationships and fortify existing ones.
  • Flexibility in thinking, planning, and execution, coupled with a capacity for creative problem-solving.
  • Strong team player adept at multitasking across all staff levels with minimal supervision.
  • Proactive, energetic, and possessing strong business acumen along with excellent networking capabilities.
  • High integrity, adept at communicating with individuals at all organizational levels, and open-minded with a determined work ethic.
  • Demonstrates a strong determination to achieve goals and overcome challenges[L1] .
  • Takes proactive steps and demonstrates initiative to take on tasks independently.
  • Hard-working and diligence in carrying out responsibilities.
