Overall expectation
The Bursary Executive (Compliance, Sustainability, Health & Safety and Projects) is responsible for supporting the Bursary Department in ensuring the school complies with all relevant regulations, promotes sustainable practices, and maintains a safe and healthy environment. This role involves managing compliance documentation, assisting with sustainability initiatives, overseeing health and safety protocols, and supporting financial administration tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance
- Maintain and organise compliance documentation and records.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory reports and filings.
- Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations and communicate updates to the Bursar.
- Support the implementation of internal compliance policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular compliance audits and prepare reports on findings.
Sustainability
- Assist in developing and implementing the school’s sustainability strategy.
- Coordinate sustainability initiatives, including recycling programs, energy efficiency projects, and sustainable procurement practices.
- Monitor and report on the school’s sustainability performance and progress toward targets.
- Organise sustainability awareness campaigns and educational activities for staff and students.
- Liaise with external organizations and partners on sustainability projects and best practices.
Health & Safety
- Assist in developing and maintaining health and safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular health and safety inspections and risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards.
- Coordinate health and safety training programs for staff and students.
- Investigate and report on incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain records of health and safety audits, incidents, and training.
Projects
- Assist in developing and maintaining health and safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular health and safety inspections and risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards.
- Coordinate health and safety training programs for staff and students.
- Investigate and report on incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain records of health and safety audits, incidents, and training.
General Administrative Support
- Provide administrative support to the Bursary Department.
- Handle correspondence and communications related to compliance, sustainability, and health and safety.
- Assist with the preparation of reports, presentations, and other documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Bursary Department.

In order to meet the high standards expected of a leading professional in our College, the successful candidate will understand and believe in the aims and ethos of a non-franchised British independent education in general and in Marlborough College Malaysia in particular.
In addition, we are seeking to employ a person with the following qualities, experience, skills and abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, environmental science, finance, occupational health and safety, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a compliance, sustainability, health and safety, or financial administration role is preferred.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for sustainability, health, and safety.
Hours of Work
Normal working hours are 8am – 5pm Monday to Friday.
