Key responsibilities of Safety Engineer:

1. Responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety policies and programs to ensure a safe and compliant working environment. Involves assessing risks, conducting safety audits, and providing guidance on safety practices to minimize accidents and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

2. Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs and procedures in line with local, state, and federal regulations. Ensure that all safety policies and procedures are up-to-date and effectively communicated to employees.

3. Well know in PSM (Process Safety Management)

4. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards. Prepare and maintain documentation related to safety compliance and training.

5. Investigate workplace incidents and accidents to determine root causes. Prepare incident reports and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

6. Liase with DOSH & DOE also familiar with DOSH systems.

7. Develop and deliver safety training programs and materials for employees. Ensure that all employees are trained in proper safety procedures and practices.

8. Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures. Conduct regular drills and training to ensure preparedness for emergencies.

9. Ensure that all safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) are available, properly maintained, and used correctly. Recommend improvements or additions to safety equipment as needed.

10. Work closely with other departments to integrate safety practices into daily operations. Act as a point of contact for safety-related issues and concerns.

Job Qualification:

1. Bachelor’s degree or diploma in (Environment/Health/Safety) or Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering with more than 3 years of working experience in chemical industry.

2.Possess valid DOS-SHO competency (Green Book) is preferred.
