Position Overview:

The Quality Control Inspector/Quality Controller will be responsible for inspecting materials, components, and finished products to ensure they meet the company's quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. The role requires conducting tests, identifying defects, and working with production and engineering teams to ensure continuous product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections on incoming materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and standards (e.g., ASME).
  • Perform dimensional and visual inspections using tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Document inspection results, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and maintain detailed records of quality issues.
  • Create and update inspection checklists and templates as needed to standardize quality inspections.
  • Collaborate with the production team to ensure non-conforming products are identified and addressed.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of quality control procedures and processes.
  • Monitor and report on quality trends, identify recurring issues, and suggest improvements to prevent defects.
  • Participate in internal audits to ensure compliance with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Communicate quality issues and corrective actions with relevant departments.
  • Assist in training production staff on quality standards and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in quality control or related field is a plus.
  • Minimum of [X] years of experience as a QC Inspector/Controller in a manufacturing or fabrication environment, preferably involving pressure vessels or bulk handling equipment.
  • Knowledge of quality standards, including ASME codes and ISO 9001.
  • Proficiency in the use of inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) and the ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications will be a strong advantage.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills, with experience in quality management software and documentation preferred.
