Production Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities

• Ensure that a high standard and procedures of Health & Safety is achieved and maintained, & continuously promote “See it, Own it” culture.
• Plan, control and monitoring the production department, so that budgeted production objectives in relation to volume, cost, quality and schedule are achieved
• Plan, control and monitor the Maintenance Department for upkeeping the plant machineries and minimise the machine downtime
• To contribute and support the unit in Quality & Process Improvement Projects, Cost Down Projects, and R&D & Innovation Projects
• Ensure all production activities meets both internal company standard and external regulatory requirement in relation to health, safety and quality ( e.g. OSHA and Machinery Dept, Inspection and Audit, ISO 9002 SIRIM Audit )
• Contribute to the preparation of annual plans and budgets for both organisational and capital resources for the plant so that production capacity able to fulfil sales forecasts needs
• Identify problems and improve processes.
• Collaboration with the Engineering team in carrying out major project execution taking place in respective plants.
• Collaboration with the Process team in carrying out plant trials or other trials taking place in respective plants.
• Organize & conduct various training related to HSE, SPS & other new group policies.
• To step in as the next person in charge in the event of Manager’s absence.

• HSE awareness & behaviours of the workers.
• Ensure safety, quality, and managing costs at the same time.
• Production in line with fluctuating market demand and adherence to production scheduling.
• Inconsistency of raw material quality.
• Manufacturing skills gap & competency assessment & languages, due to mixture of shop floor employees from different countries & cultures where it exists.

Skills & Requirements

• Minimum Diploma or Degree holder in Engineering/Science/Industrial discipline.
• Basic managerial and in-depth supervisory skill in planning, controlling, monitoring and following-up
• Electrical, electronic & mechanical troubleshooting knowledge
• Creative, innovative, and general problem solving skill
• Ability to work independently.
