JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage the purchasing team, ensuring effective day-to-day operations.
- Provide training, guidance, and performance evaluations for team members.
- Oversee the entire purchasing process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of purchase orders and invoices.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality, and compliance with terms.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive system for managing vendors and subcontractors.
- Conduct regular vendor assessments and audits.
- Resolve issues related to order discrepancies or delays.
- Prepare and present monthly costing reports to Management.
- Develop and implement quarterly cost reduction initiatives to achieve cost savings targets.
- Define correct buying channels and select the best suppliers based on price, quality, and lead time.
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and alternative materials.
- Ensure compliance with the Company's policies on Intellectual Property and Confidential Information.
- Carry out any other related assignments provided by the Management from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Possess at least a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Procurement Management or another related field.
- Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Effective problem-solving abilities.
- Strong time management skills.
- Proficiency in material identification and sourcing.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with at least 5 years in a purchasing role.
