JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage the purchasing team, ensuring effective day-to-day operations.
  • Provide training, guidance, and performance evaluations for team members.
  • Oversee the entire purchasing process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of purchase orders and invoices.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality, and compliance with terms.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive system for managing vendors and subcontractors.
  • Conduct regular vendor assessments and audits.
  • Resolve issues related to order discrepancies or delays.
  • Prepare and present monthly costing reports to Management.
  • Develop and implement quarterly cost reduction initiatives to achieve cost savings targets.
  • Define correct buying channels and select the best suppliers based on price, quality, and lead time.
  • Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and alternative materials.
  • Ensure compliance with the Company's policies on Intellectual Property and Confidential Information.
  • Carry out any other related assignments provided by the Management from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Possess at least a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Procurement Management or another related field.
  • Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Proficiency in material identification and sourcing.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with at least 5 years in a purchasing role.
