Key Tasks & Responsibilities : Production Planning and Scheduling: Coordinate production schedules and workflow according to deadlines and efficiency goals. Ensure that production processes follow established timelines and that resources (labor, materials, equipment) are allocated efficiently. Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards, company policies, and government regulations (e.g., OSHA). Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards. Production Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve production processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize workflow. Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production output, machine utilization, and downtime. Problem Solving & Troubleshooting: Quickly address any production issues that arise, including machinery breakdowns, material shortages, or workforce challenges. Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to resolve technical issues and ensure that machines are properly maintained. Analyze root causes of production delays or quality problems and implement solutions to prevent recurrence. Inventory and Material Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure the availability of materials and supplies for uninterrupted production. Coordinate with the supply chain and purchasing departments to order materials, track deliveries, and reduce stock-outs or overstock situations. Cost Control & Budgeting: Manage the production budget by controlling labor costs, reducing material waste, and optimizing machine efficiency. Analyze production costs and work to find cost-saving opportunities without compromising product quality. Reporting & Documentation: Prepare regular production reports that detail performance metrics such as output, efficiency, quality, and downtime. Maintain accurate documentation of production processes, personnel activities, equipment maintenance, and quality control measures. Communication & Coordination: Act as a liaison between production workers and management, ensuring that any concerns, feedback, or instructions are effectively communicated. Collaborate with other departments such as logistics, sales, and procurement to align production goals with business objectives. Training & Development: Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for production workers to enhance skills, promote safety, and ensure process consistency. Implement onboarding programs for new employees and provide refresher training to existing staff. Resource Management: Ensure that machinery and equipment are in good working condition and that any maintenance or repairs are carried out promptly. Optimize the use of equipment, labor, and materials to meet production targets while minimizing waste and downtime.
