The candidate would be expected to provide oversight over the Company's tax matters which include tax risk management, reporting, advisory and compliance. The incumbent is expected to have experiences in direct and indirect tax reporting, provide solutions to any tax-related issues that arise, keen to develop and grow within the role and to take on additional challenges and responsibilities as they occur. There will be various interactions with external parties, including internal and external auditors, tax agents, tax authorities, Bank Negara officials and Regional Office representatives. The incumbent is also expected to have good communication skills, strong networking ability to positively influence counterparties and possess the character to provide deliverables within stipulated timelines.

Preparation of corporate tax returns and other corporate tax matters

  • Facilitate and manage the preparation of corporate tax computation by compiling and providing necessary information to tax agent for computation of corporate tax return;
  • Assist to review, check and validate the tax computation prepared by tax agent and ensure accurate and timely filing of the tax return;
  • Preparation and submission of under/over tax provision adjustments after the submission of corporate tax return;
  • To submit CP204 and CP204A and ensure the estimated tax payable is within the range to avoid any penalty for under/over-estimation; and
  • Assist on any tax audits/compliance audits/internal audits matters and respond to the audit queries and in case of tax audits, manage preparation of required documents to address tax audit queries from tax authorities.


Submission of Service Tax Return and provide service tax advisory

  • Preparation of service tax return and ensure timely submission on bi-monthly basis;
  • Review completeness and accuracy of GL posting for service tax transactions by performing reconciliation;
  • Provide advise/guidance to businesses on all company's service tax related matters;
  • Assist to liaise with tax authorities and tax agents where necessary for any issues.


Transfer Pricing Reporting and Documentation

  • Facilitate and manage the preparation of transfer pricing analysis and reports by compiling and providing necessary information to tax agent for preparation of the annual transfer pricing reports.


Provide advisory for all withholding tax related matters

  • Provide advise to relevant businesses on the withholding tax treatment; and
  • Assist to review and ensure timely submission of withholding tax to tax authorities to avoid any late payment penalty.


Risk management and procedures

  • To support in establishing and/or maintaining risk management practices within the Finance functions, in line with the various risk and compliance guidelines as released by the corresponding section in the Company.
  • Continuously support the team in process workflow improvement initiatives


Other Ad-hoc Activities Deemed Necessary To Support Finance Functions

  • As and when required, the candidate may be required to provide support to other functions. Such requests would be initially assessed for its appropriateness by the management and would be of a nature such that no unreasonable demands are made of the candidate, and with expectations that is reasonable given the circumstances.


Qualification And Experience

  • 2 years and above of working experience in Tax or Finance Reporting.
  • Accounting professional qualification e.g. ICAEW, ACCA, CPA, etc.
  • Have the knowledge of the relevant Tax Laws in Malaysia.
  • Self-starter and able to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Strong accounting and analytical skills.
  • Strong computer skills: proficiency in Excel, Word, Power Point.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented & ability to multi-task.
