Job Summary
The Interior Designer will assess site conditions to create functional, visually appealing layouts that maximize space efficiency. This role involves developing comprehensive design plans, mood boards, and visual concepts while coordinating with suppliers and contractors. The designer will also oversee the installation process to ensure that all elements meet high-quality standards and align with the original vision.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct site visits to assess layout, dimensions, and structural elements, noting architectural features and potential design opportunities.
• Create space-efficient layouts that ensure optimal use of furniture, fixtures, and circulation within any given constraints.
• Develop mood boards and color schemes to clearly communicate the desired aesthetic to clients or stakeholders.
• Produce detailed design documents including floor plans, elevations, and sections.
• Generate realistic 3D visualizations and lighting simulations to illustrate the final design concept.
• Select and specify materials, finishes, and furnishings, ensuring quality and attention to detail in all design aspects.
• Collaborate closely with suppliers and contractors to ensure that the design is implemented in accordance with the plans and specifications.
• Source and recommend furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E), overseeing their procurement, delivery, and installation.
• Monitor the installation process to ensure correct and timely execution, conducting quality checks throughout the project.
Job Requirements
• Diploma or higher qualification in Interior Design, with relevant work experience.
• Preferably 3-5 years of professional interior design experience.
• Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp (3Ds Max is an advantage), and Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Strong knowledge of materials, finishes, furniture, and detailing.
• Basic understanding of construction and carpentry.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Experience in project management, tendering, and cost estimation is an added advantage.
