Your Role And Responsibilities

Join us as a Tender Quotation Specialist, you will be responsible to formulate competitive techno-commercial proposals, taking into consideration on best available solution / product mix, for each individual opportunity assigned to you. Ensures bids & proposals are well documented in a timely manner and with appropriate level of detail, including full and accurate costs. As the custodian of bids and proposal, you will collaborate with extended stakeholders (i.e., sales, tax, contract management, finance, project, engineering, product & leadership) and ensuring all risk review processes, assessments & approvals are adhered/documented in the preparation of techno-commercial proposals. The work model for the role is: , This role is contributing to the Process Automation Energy Industries Business based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Formulating competitive bids & proposals, considering best available solution / product mix and appropriate technical and commercial considerations for each individual situation.
  • Managing the preparation of all technical (e.g., defining the most suitable technology and product type(s)), financial (e.g., total price sheet, cash flow analysis) and if necessary, project management (e.g., quantifies hours of engineering and commissioning) aspects of the bid/estimate/quotation, indicating prices and trading conditions.
  • In accordance with bid/estimate/quotation planning, ensuring that inputs for editing activities are provided on time and according to established quality procedures.
  • Managing external services to support bid/estimation preparation such as translations and governmental approvals.
  • Collecting and archiving documentation regarding the offer/order and recording assumptions and decisions taken during the development process.
  • Regularly reporting the status of the bids/estimates/quotations using defined tools and collecting and analyzing the reasons for tenders being lost and won.
  • Identifying potential risks in the bids, and estimates, and in any related contract agreements across customers/channels.
  • Providing information and/or participating in the Risk Review process in accordance with ABB policy. Shall be responsible for all T&C discussions with customer.


Qualifications For The Role

  • Engineering degree with more than 5 years of expertise in Automation controls.
  • More than 4 years of experience in complex Bids & Proposal.
  • More than 4 years of experience in operations - Project Management.
  • Experience in Asia Pacific customer base - Oil & Gas, Chemical & Refinery Industries and/or Power & Water.
  • International, cross-business units /division experience.
  • Fluent in English both oral and written.
  • Team player, self-sufficient and highly motivated.
