Job Description

Principal/ Senior Engineer, Facilities Engineering (Mechanical)

Job Responsibilities: Technical

  • Responsible for the Mechanical Systems of the plant, inclusive of HVAC, BMS, Process Utilities (CDA, Vacuum, General Exhaust and Liquid Nitrogen) and Fire Protection System.
  • Close monitoring on the above to ensure the systems are operating safely, reliably, and ready to support continuous operation of the production.
  • Ensures planned maintenance are effectively executed, and the systems are following Authority regulations, as well as the relevant Engineering Standards and Safety Standards.
  • Works closely with internal customers on new process introduction and tool hook-up activities.
  • Executes projects including design, procurement, and coordination of installation work to meet the specified time, quality, and cost.
  • Supervise and implement QAQC on contractor activities to ensure conformance to drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Implement energy efficient and energy saving initiatives.
  • Maintains proper documentation system to ensure that the ongoing activities in the plant are consistently updated in as-built drawings and documents. Autocad competency is required.
  • Experience working in cleanroom environment.
  • Analyzing problems and producing designs to solve them.
  • Networking and collaborating with other engineers and professionals.
  • Working within the budget to deliver safe and efficient products on time.
  • Allocating resources and time effectively.
  • Developing design prototypes if needed.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Attending meetings and providing input and updates.
  • Analyzing data to write up reports.
  • Communicating with staff, Operations Directors, and Stakeholders.
  • Dealing with authority and customer audits.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance program for critical equipment, systems, and infrastructure. Coordinate and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
  • Involvement in all Internal and External audits. Ensure all action item related to this audit is closed on a timely manner.
  • To coordinate all external contractors in their work, safeguard the compliance of health, safety, and environmental obligations
  • Develop and implement facility improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency and employee satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain a strong internal team, providing training, guidance, and performance management.
  • Implement energy conservation initiatives to reduce costs and enhance the facility's sustainability performance. Monitor energy consumption, analyze trends, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide strong leadership and direction to the facilities team, contractors, and staff. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, ensure clear communication, and provide coaching and development opportunities.
  • Stay updated with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards related to facility operations and maintenance. Ensure compliance with governmental and environmental regulations.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and areas for improvement. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to optimize facility performance and enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Liaise with DOSH, DOE, BOMBA & other relevant authorities on matters related to Facilities and EHS
  • Undertakes any additional/ad-hoc duties as assigned by superiors as and when the need arises.
