Position: Assistant Accountant

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
Job Description and Key Result Areas
Manage Banking Relationships and Negotiate Loans Prepare and Present Financial Reports: Develop and present detailed financial reports for monthly management meetings. Collaborate on Budgets and Performance Tracking: Work closely with executives and business leaders to create budgets and monitor profit/loss performance by business unit and on a consolidated basis. Address Financial Challenges: Apply financial and treasury expertise to devise solutions for emerging financial issues and liaise with other departments and business units to address various concerns. Provide Financial Advice: Offer strategic advice on financial matters affecting the company as a whole. Supervise and Mentor Staff: Oversee and guide junior staff members, ensuring their work aligns with company standards and prepares accurate financial reports and submissions. Arrange Financial Audits and Reviews: Coordinate and manage financial audits and reviews as necessary, and handle the transfer of funds between bank accounts as required. Implement Control Systems: Recommend and maintain a system of policies and procedures to ensure effective control over Finance Department activities. Any other tasks as assigned by CFO. - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency in accounting software (APLUS, Autocount and Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with reconciliation, and financial reporting.
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail in financial record-keeping and data entry.
- Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies and identify opportunities for improvements.
- Communication skills – Good verbal and written communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
- Effective time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
