Job Title: Quantity Surveyor Intern Department: Project Management Location: HQ, Menara Southpoint

Job Overview: As a Quantity Surveyor Intern in the Project Management department at Knight Frank Malaysia, you will gain hands-on experience in cost management, project planning, and financial reporting in the property and real estate sectors. You will assist the project management team in ensuring that costs are properly managed and that projects are delivered within budget and on time. This internship will provide valuable exposure to real-world projects and professional development within the property industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing and updating Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for projects.
  • Support the team in cost estimation, cost analysis, and tender documentation preparation.
  • Assist in conducting measurements and take-offs from drawings to ensure accurate pricing.
  • Assist in evaluate/value-engineer design and outline specifications and exercise cost control during the pre-tender stage of project
  • Help in evaluating tenders and providing input on contractor selection.
  • Assist in monitoring and tracking project costs and variations.
  • Support in the preparation of progress claims and payment certificates.
  • Assist in post-contract administration, including variations, final accounts, and contractual claims.
  • Assist in the preparation of project cost reports for the project management team.

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Basic knowledge on contractual matters.
  • Good command in English & Malay Language. Mandarin proficiency will be an added advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of cost management and tendering processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Passionate about the property and real estate industry.
