Key Purpose of Role

The Malaysia International Marketing Manager is a leader for all frontline marketing & promotional activities for international artists across all key repertoire owners from US, UK & Europe including the following labels, Atlantic Records, Warner Records , Elektra, WMUK, ADA etc.

They formulate & implement marketing strategies to tell the stories of our artists in Malaysia by developing their profile.

They live and breathe the digital landscape while understanding the nuances of Malaysia which makes their marketing and promotional plans second to none.

They are out to grow our artists’ market share and footprint in Malaysia making tomorrow’s superstars.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead & develop creative marketing & promotion strategies for Warner Music International artists.
  • Work on a rolling 3-month strategy for Asia’s priority artists by developing and building their presence in Malaysia.
  • They will be in constant contact with the Asia Regional Office in understanding what products are coming (3 months ahead) and planning the strategy for them before cascading them down to the Malaysia team at the right time.
  • Deliver on the monthly Market Share goals set out for Malaysia for the artists in their purview to improve our company market share and revenue from our key digital service providers (DSPs).
  • Set up SMART goals & action plans for the team and take ownership of these goals, communicate the measurable KPIs to the stakeholders and work together to achieve the results
  • Drive seamless communication between all label partners and Asia Regional Office.
  • They will work with the Asia Regional Office in determining Promo Tour opportunities in Malaysia that fit in line with our regional objectives. Working with the Marketing team on the logistics, the International Marketing Manager will be formulating the marketing plan in the lead up to, during and post tour to ensure results will continue to deliver when the artist is out of market.
  • They will be looking at the forthcoming Malaysia touring calendar and formulating a strategy in how Warner can leverage their presents in market to either increase consumption or working a single or project.
  • Drive/funnel marketing partnership opportunities with brands on concerts, artists’ promotional and market visits, to Brand Partnership team.
  • Gather, analyse and package regular post-mortem on marketing plans, promo trip and concert tour to improve future marketing strategies & decision-making.
  • Observe any new marketing ideas and recommend for local implementation if applicable.
  • Take notice of new artists, trends, and contents from US, UK or other repertoire. Identifying potential markets and so that we can be ahead of the trend in Malaysia.
  • They are a strong communicator that can work with different functions of the Malaysia Business to continue to leverage and elevate marketing plans for our artist.
  • Efficiently manage a marketing budget for all marketing projects and initiatives working with the Finance Team
