Road Transport Safety Supervisor
Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE): Safety Oversight: Monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations for all road transport operations, including vehicle maintenance, loading procedures, and driver behavior. Driver Management: Conduct regular safety briefings and training sessions for drivers on defensive driving techniques, vehicle handling, and emergency protocols. Incident Investigation: Lead investigations for transport-related incidents, including accidents and near-misses. Prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Risk Assessments: Conduct risk assessments for road transport activities, identifying hazards and implementing control measures to mitigate risks. Vehicle Inspections: Ensure regular inspections and maintenance of all company vehicles, ensuring they are roadworthy and meet safety standards. Compliance Audits: Conduct audits of road transport processes, ensuring compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all safety-related activities, incidents, and corrective actions. Prepare monthly reports for management on transport safety performance. Collaboration: Work closely with the operations team to ensure safe loading and unloading procedures. Liaise with external regulatory bodies for audits and safety checks.
Education: Diploma or degree in Occupational Safety, Transportation, Logistics, or related field. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in road transport safety, logistics, or fleet management. Certifications: Relevant safety certifications (e.g., Defensive Driving, HSE) are preferred.
