ROLE SUMMARY

Responsible for ensuring the smooth daily operations of a cafe. This includes providing excellent customer service, preparing food and beverages, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards. The role requires teamwork, multitasking, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Cafe Crew members contribute to creating a positive customer experience and support the cafe's operational efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Service

1. Greeting and serving customers: Taking orders, answering questions about the menu, and providing recommendations.

2. Handling payments: Operating the point-of-sale (POS) system, processing cash and card payments, and giving out receipts.

3. Handling customer complaints: Addressing concerns and complaints in a friendly and efficient manner to ensure customer satisfaction.

Food Preparation

1. Preparing beverages: Making coffee, tea, and other drinks as per the cafe’s menu, often using specialized equipment like espresso machines.

2. Food preparation: Assisting in preparing and serving simple dishes such as sandwiches, salads, pastries, and snacks.

Cleanliness and Hygiene

1. Maintaining cleanliness: Ensuring that the dining area, kitchen, and preparation areas are clean and hygienic at all times. This includes cleaning tables, floors, utensils, and equipment.

2. Adhering to food safety standards: Following hygiene protocols and standards set by the cafe and local health authorities to ensure food is prepared safely.

Inventory Management

1. Stocking supplies: Ensuring that food, beverages, and other supplies are stocked and properly stored.

2. Monitoring inventory levels: Informing the outlet manager when items are running low and assisting with inventory checks.

Team Work

1. Collaborating with team members: Working closely with other cafe staff, including baristas, chefs, and cleaners, to ensure smooth operation during peak hours.

2. Training and development: Assisting new staff members with their training and learning the cafe’s procedures.

Other Duties

1. Promoting offers and new products: Informing customers about special offers, promotions, and new items on the menu.

2. Opening and closing tasks: Depending on shifts, preparing the cafe for opening (setting up) or closing (cleaning, locking up, etc.).

3. Perform other tasks as assigned by the outlet manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required.No experience isrequired; all are welcome to apply.
  • Basic understanding of food preparation and safety standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in a team and handle peak-hour stress.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new tasks.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong customer service skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM2,200.00 per month
