- Oversee the entire plastic bag manufacturing process, including blowing, cutting, and sealing operations.
- Develop and implement production schedules based on sales forecasts and customer orders.
- Ensure that production targets are met, and downtime is minimized by managing resources effectively.
- Machine Operation & Maintenance:
- Supervise the operation of plastic bag blowing machines, cutting machines, and printing machines to ensure optimum performance.
- Monitor machine parameters (such as temperature, pressure, and speed) to maintain product quality and consistency.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure the proper functioning of machinery and reduce breakdowns.
- Raw Material Management:
- Manage the procurement and usage of raw materials, such as polyethylene resins, additives, and colorants.
- Ensure the correct mix of materials to produce plastic bags of the desired thickness, durability, and quality while minimizing waste.
- Monitor inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Quality Control:
- Implement strict quality control measures to ensure that finished plastic bags meet the required specifications, including strength, transparency, and seal integrity.
- Conduct inspections during various stages of production and take corrective action in case of defects.
- Maintain documentation for quality control and compliance with industry standards.
- Team Management:
- Lead a team of operators and technicians, providing training on machine operation, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Supervise production shifts and ensure that workers adhere to operational guidelines and safety regulations.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to improve team efficiency.
- Process Improvement:
- Continuously assess production processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and minimize production costs.
- Implement lean manufacturing techniques to streamline operations and improve productivity.
- Investigate production bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve workflow.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure that all workers follow health, safety, and environmental regulations, particularly those related to handling chemicals, operating machinery, and using personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct regular safety audits and training to promote a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations related to the plastic manufacturing industry, including waste management and recycling.
- Production Reporting:
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on production output, efficiency, material usage, and downtime.
- Analyze production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Communicate with senior management on production progress and challenges.
- Cost Control:
- Monitor production costs and work towards reducing waste of raw materials, energy, and labor.
- Optimize material usage and ensure that production runs are cost-effective.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining product quality.
- Troubleshooting:
- Resolve any technical issues with machinery and equipment in a timely manner to minimize production disruptions.
- Work closely with the engineering and maintenance teams to fix breakdowns and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related fields is preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in plastic manufacturing, ideally in plastic bag production.
- Strong knowledge of plastic extrusion, blowing, cutting, and sealing processes.
- Experience with production machinery like blown film extruders and bag making machines.
- Ability to manage production teams and train machine operators.
- Proficiency in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot production issues.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in manufacturing.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
