  • Plan and facilitate overall implementation of risk management initiatives which covering (but not limited to) business risks, corruption risks and business continuity planning and ensure that the initiatives are completed in all material aspects, assignments are well planned and executed as planned
  • Keeping abreast with the latest regulatory requirements and best practices on good corporate governance and risk management for the adoption within the Group, where applicable
  • Cultivating a customer-centric, collaborative, and proactive risk-aware culture and providing support to top management and business units to understand, assess and mitigate the risks
  • Develop or execute sustainability strategies to address issues such as energy use, resource conservation, recycling, pollution reduction, waste elimination, emission, circular economy, etc. Supervise employees or volunteers working on sustainability projects
  • Keeping the Board of Directors and top management updates on the implementation status of the risk management initiatives across the Group

Job Responsibility

  • To work closely with Head of Group Risk Department with risk management strategy of the Group including risk control/ reduction, financial projections and development of risk management policies to achieve the strategic plans. Implement continuous controls and metrics to monitor business goals
  • Establish a strategic plan involving the PLCs within the Group, setting the direction and creating synergy to guide the PLCs to achieve high productivity and efficiency in the organizations
  • Facilitate and provide guidance to the subsidiaries/ business unit in managing risks, risks management activities, and the insulation of risk-aware culture across the Group
  • Setting up a sound Risk Management Framework, implementation of Risk Management Processes and the disclosure of risk management function in the Annual Report (SORMIC)
  • Monitor and ensuring strategic objectives of the risk management program are met, with evaluation of risk to change events which may introduce new risks into the business units such as a new product, investment or acquisition
  • Maintaining all risk related documents in a professional manner and control on line and printed publication and release of documents for internal and external usage
  • Review and analyse adequancy of risk analysis (root causes) and risk mitigation strategies addressing the root causes proposed by business units
  • Perform and provide guidance to junior Risk Management Team members and Risk Champions on risk analytics, audits and tasks as required. May also be partnering with other teams and stakeholder across the organization including Governance team
  • To keep abreast and update on the latest information/ news related to local & global regulatory requirements
  • Monitor industry trends and the organization’s developments to ensure appropriateness of risk appetite & parameters, and facilitate with BU to make necessay changes, where necessary
  • Support Head of GRMS to perform high level risk review on the strategic and emerging risks for the further deliberation with the senior management or business units
  • Leading the deliberation session with the business units to review & challenge the risk profile (including monthly Key Risk Indicators reporting, status of the action plan implementation and risk rating)
  • Support Head of GRMSt to present the latest updates to Risk Management and Sustainability Committee (RMSC) and Board Risk Management and Sustainability Committee (BRMSC) on the implementation progress and the Group's risks status as well as risk management initiatives
  • Facilitate the risk management training to create and embedment of risk aware culture within the Group
  • Develop and implement business continuity framework (business continuity plan, crisis management plan & emergency response plan) across the Group to ensure the business resilience in the event crystalisation of risk
  • Project lead in due diligence exercises and familiar with merger and acquisitions as well as corporate restructuring
  • Developing and implementing sustainability initiatives and monitoring performance
  • Empower and provide proper guidance/ supervision to junior staff in GRMS to effectively execute their roles & responsibilities in risk management
  • Other special assignments, ad-hoc function and related duties delegated by Head of GRMS, RMSC or BRMSC

Job Requirement

  • At least 10 years of experience in Risk Management, Internal Audit, Risk Advisory, Actuarial or Compliance
  • Degree holder in risk management, accounting, finance, other related business management field; or possesses other related professional qualification such as International Business, Sustainability Management, Economics, or Accounting
  • Strong knowledge in risk concepts, frameworks and regulations, coupled with experience in risk management covering business and operational areas. Exposure and knowledge in ISO 31000 is an added advantage
  • Preferably knowledge of the risk and governance process in automotive industry and related industries to Tan Chong Group
  • A strong team player with good interpersonal skill and able to work with all level of management from different companies within the Group
  • Strong business presentation, communications and business report writing skills
  • A proactive leader with strong commercial acumen and excellent communication skills
  • Display honest and consistent behaviour to all levels and respect people's confidences
  • Highly driven, resourceful, detailed oriented and able to work independently without supervision
  • Possess grit mindset with personality trait who demonstrate passion and perseverance toward a goal despite being confronted by significant obstacles and distractions; able to self-regulate and postpone their need for positive reinforcement while working diligently on a task

Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
