Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation and Budgeting:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for Electrical & Mechanical projects, considering materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, monitoring expenditures and ensuring adherence to financial constraints.

Contractual Management:

  • Administer contracts and agreements between the client, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Analyze and negotiate contractual terms, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Handle variations and changes in contracts, assessing their impact on project costs.

Quantity Takeoff and Measurement:

  • Conduct accurate quantity takeoffs from architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Measure and quantify materials and labor required for construction activities.

Tendering and Procurement:

  • Prepare tender documents and participate in the tendering process, evaluating bids and recommending suitable contractors.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to source materials and services at competitive prices.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and assess potential risks that may impact project costs.
  • Develop strategies to mitigate risks and ensure that projects remain within budgetary constraints.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare regular financial reports detailing project expenditures, cost variations, and forecasting.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to project stakeholders.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that construction work meets the required quality standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to address any quality-related issues.
  • Dispute Resolution:
  • Assist in the resolution of disputes related to contracts, payments, and project changes.
  • Provide expert advice on contractual matters and participate in dispute resolution processes.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior quantity surveyors and support staff.

Requirements:

1. Candidate must possess at least a Degree in Quantity Survey or equivalent.

2. Be able to work independently with minimum guidance and under pressure to meet the deadlines.

3. At least 5 years of relevant Main Construction experience. Experience in mechanical and electrical engineering projects is preferred.

4. Good communication skills, positive working attitude, punctuality with high responsibility, and able to work independently.

5. Good team player, keen desire to learn, contribute, advance and progress with the company.

6. Fluency in Bahasa Malaysia, English, and Mandarin is an advantage.

7. Registered member of Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM) and Board of Quantity Surveyor Malaysia (BQSM) is preferred.
