Brief

The Head of Retail will be focusing on expanding and scaling the retail businesses for our garage retail store, ensuring efficient management of manpower and resources whilst driving sales growth. This role will be instrumental in setting up garage stores nationwide from licensing, banking arrangement, renovation works, stock forwarding arrangement, staff recruitment, outlet location research, market intel study, operation budgeting, business planning and etc. An ideal candidate would be someone who proves that setbacks can be pivotal in achieving ultimate success.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee store operational management, hiring and training of store managers, setting store KPIs, and monitoring store operations.
  • Manage store layout, merchandising, and inventory to optimize sales and improve customer experience.
  • Implement and maintain store procedures, including opening and closing protocols, cash handling, and safety measures.
  • Drive sales growth by developing and executing strategies to increase foot traffic and customer engagement.
  • Manage inventory levels, order products, and control stock to minimize wastage and ensure product availability.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to implement promotions, sales events, and advertising campaigns.
  • Utilize local marketing opportunities to enhance store visibility and attract new customers.
  • Ensure high standards of customer service by training and supervising staff in effective sales techniques and customer interactions.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints and issues promptly and professionally.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing expert advice on automotive products and services.
  • Develop and manage the store budget, including expense control, payroll, and capital expenditures.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and health and safety standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with aftermarket products, trends, and market developments to provide informed recommendations to customers.

Requirements

  • Min a Diploma or a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Automotive Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in retail management, preferably within the automotive / garage industry.
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth and setting up retail stores from the ground up.
  • Strong understanding of motorsports products and services is highly desirable.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
