Overall Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the taxation policies of the Group of Companies are consistent with the applicable taxation laws
- Overview full set of accounts for the Group companies (total 8 active companies in KK and Tawau).
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial reports of the Group of Companies and compliance with the Company’s policies and applicable accounting standards.
- Develop strong internal controls in the subsidiary companies operations to safeguard the Group's interest.
- Ensure all regulatory reporting and filing obligations are met, including liaison with auditors, tax agents, bankers and other statutory authorities on internal & external audit matters.
Key Responsibilities Areas:
- Review monthly, quarterly, half yearly and yearly performance report, analysis of accounts, management/statutory reporting.
- Ensure prompt and accurate monthly financial statements of the Group are sent to the Management for review with detailed analysis and explanation by 15th of the following month.
- Provide guidance and full support to the accounts team of the subsidiaries not limited to financial but operational, tax and other matters.
- Ensure sufficient cashflow and maximise income by better cash monitoring in terms of loan interest as well.
- Identify issues and make proposals to align with corporate process and continuous improvements to achieve the Company’s goals and objectives.
- To assist in the implementation and monitoring of the operational procedures/systems.
- Develop strong internal controls in the subsidiary companies operations to safeguard the Group's interest.
- Ensure all regulatory reporting and filing obligations are met, including liaison with auditors, tax agents, bankers and other statutory authorities on internal & external audit matters.
- Custodian of Company assets and assist in controlling Company expenses.
- Assist in any ad hoc assignments as assigned by the Management/Director.
- Willing to travel to quarry site for operations visit in Kota Kinabalu )1-2 times a month) and also travel to Tawau office quarterly for meeting.
- Able to manage a team of 8 under Accounts and Finance team for the Group.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least Degree in Accounting or Finance. Those pursuing professional course such as ACCA, CAT, CIMA will also be considered.
- Prefer to have experience in IFRS - International Financial Reporting Standards
- Minimum 5 years and above of managerial experiences.
- Experience in quarry, hotel and palm oil industries will be an added advantage.
- Required skills: Microsoft Words & Excel.
- Required language: English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin is a MUST.
