General Job Description:

Wastewater treatment is the process of improving the quality of wastewater and converting it into an effluent that can be either returned to the nature or incorporated to the water cycle with minimum environmental issues or that can be reused.

A process engineer optimises and improves the efficiency of and organisation’s manufacturing and industrial process. They ensure the smooth functioning of production lines, develop new techniques, modify existing designs, and coordinate process improvement projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

System Design and Optimization:

  • Design, optimize, and implement wastewater treatment systems to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
  • Conduct regular assessments of existing systems to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency.

CePIETSO (PCP) and CePIETSO (BP) Compliance:

  • Stay current with CePIETSO (PCP) and CePIETSO (BP) regulations and standards, ensuring that our wastewater treatment processes align with these requirements.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies to ensure proper documentation and reporting.

Process Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

  • Monitor wastewater treatment processes to identify deviations and troubleshoot issues promptly.
  • Implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the continuous and reliable operation of wastewater treatment facilities.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Collect and analyze data related to wastewater treatment processes.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on system performance, compliance status, and recommendations for improvement.

Technology Integration:

  • Explore and integrate innovative technologies and best practices to enhance wastewater treatment efficiency and reduce environmental impact.

Environmental Impact Assessment:

  • Conduct environmental impact assessments related to wastewater treatment processes and propose mitigation measures when necessary.

Regulatory Liaison:

  • Ensure timely submission of required reports and documentation to regulatory bodies.

Any other duties may be assigned to you from time to time.

Qualification:

  • Diploma or Degree in Chemical Engineering / Environmental Engineering / Science or related field.
  • With 1-2 years’ experience in related field
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing wastewater treatment systems.
  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Professional Certificate in Safety and Health Competence Course approved by DOSH
  • Possess CePIETSO (PCP) and CePIETSO (BP) competency.
  • Knowledge Factory and Machinery Act 1967, OSHA 1994, FMA 1967 & EQA 1974, Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001
