As an Environmental Health Safety (EHS) Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and continually improving Micron’s safety and health programs and procedures to ensure personnel and plant wide Health and Safety. This individual is require to monitor and conduct EHS audits to identify level of implementation & effectiveness of EHS management system, identify & recommend measures/approaches to close gaps/improve the management system. He/she will also be collaborating closely with external organizations on EHS compliance issues.

Primary job responsibilities include the following:

  • Ensure Micron’s EHS programs and procedures are effective, efficient, and conform to the management system and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in achieving site's sustainability goals by participating in committees and providing input to plan, execute, and monitor projects.
  • Be effective at presenting (both written and verbal) EHS matters to Micron Leadership and local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Meet requirements to conduct accurate EHS assessment and submit vital reports to regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct applicability determinations on EHS regulations.
  • Make objective decisions supported by verifiable facts.
  • Complete internal auditor training and assist in EHS management system internal audits.
  • Coordinate, manage, and conduct EHS walkthroughs, inspections, and audits to ensure operations comply with procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform incident and event follow-up and investigation, determine root cause(s), implement containment action, establish corrective action & preventative action, and verify effectiveness.
  • Collect, evaluate, and communicate EHS-related metrics and performance measurements.
  • Identify, develop, and provide EHS training in accordance with regulations and company & department objectives.
  • Provide customer support and technical expertise for various EHS issues and environmental regulations.
  • Develop and implement functional, cost-effective solutions for EHS program.

Requirements:

  • Possess at least Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Science in Environmental, Occupational Safety & Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
  • Registered Safety & Health Officer with the Department of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH) with valid Green Book.
  • Certified Lead Auditor for ISO45001 & ISO14001.
  • Experience to lead Emergency Response Team (ERT) or act as Emergency Commander.
  • At least 6 years of proven experience in EHS Management.
  • Strong knowledge of latest EHS regulations & compliance standards.
  • Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills abilities to address EHS challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent written and effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, internal & external stakeholders.
  • Good engagement with local government.
