Job Overview:
The IT Technician will be responsible for providing technical support to ensure the smooth operation of hardware, software, and network-related systems within the organization. This includes troubleshooting issues, installing and maintaining systems, and providing end-user assistance for all IT-related tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support:

Provide first-line support for IT-related issues, responding to requests via phone, email, or ticketing system.

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.

Support and assist end-users with the setup of new devices and applications. Installation and Maintenance:

Install, configure, and maintain hardware components like desktops, laptops, printers, and network devices.

Perform software installations, updates, and configurations.

Ensure the regular maintenance of IT systems including backups, system updates, and security patches.
Network Administration:

Assist in the setup, management, and maintenance of local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and other network systems.

Monitor and maintain network performance, troubleshoot issues, and escalate to higher-level IT staff when necessary.

Security and Data Protection:

Ensure data protection measures are in place by maintaining security protocols such as firewalls and antivirus software.

Assist with the management of user access controls, passwords, and other security measures.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of hardware inventory, repairs, and updates.
Prepare reports on IT system performance and log all technical issues and resolutions.

Collaboration:

Work closely with other members of the IT team to support larger IT projects.
Liaise with external vendors for hardware and software procurement, repairs, or troubleshooting.

Training:

Provide training to staff on how to use new systems and software.
Create user guides and documentation as needed.
Requirements:
Education:

A diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Relevant certifications (CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional, etc.) are a plus.

Experience:

Previous experience in IT support or a related role.
Experience with common operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and software applications.

Skills:

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of computer networking and system configurations.
Familiarity with hardware and software installation and maintenance.
Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
